DULLby v Derby

He's out of ideas when it comes to left-back. That's not on the manager, for me that's on Gregor Rioch for not signing a specialist left-back in the window. Relying on sick-note Pearce (whose isn't a good player in the first place) was always going to be a disaster. Maloney did a good job managing to covert Jones into a makeshift left-back/left-wing-back but with him seemingly injured, he had nowhere else to go. Meanwhile, Gregor Rioch spent the summer spunking precious loan spots away on Balagizi and Watts.

Personally, I think he needs to go four at at the back and play Sessegnon there, or even Watts. Some sort of sticking plaster until January when we need a specialist left-back and an experienced CM through the door within the first few days of the window.
Hopefully Luke Robinson returns & fills that void.

Just shows appearances can be deceiving...before the game i looked down at their number 6 and commented " who's that dumpy little fucker ?"... well I looked up his name after the match..E. Cashin...no me neither. What a game that lad had, never missed a header or tackle. Absolute mom by a mile and just shows not to judge a book and all that.

Sean Clare! Dear oh Dear!
1. Regularly passes backwards. (Or sideways on a good day)
2. Loses the ball when in possession.
3. Passes to the opposition. (In dangerous areas!)
4. If not the above, passes to one of ours , who is already heavily marked.
5. Ball watches and awful positional play.
6. Attackers run past him like he isn't there.

The list could go on, but there wouldn't be any positives on it.
Not sure how he gets onto the team, or how he manages NOT to get subbed. Shaun must see something in him, but quite frankly....?

Their fans love him, apparently he's been brilliant for them all season

After the first 10 mins, we were very poor in the first half, but then again, Derby were very good. Second half, we were better, but still don't seem to create the number and type of chances we were making earlier in the season.

At the start of the season, we had a decent starting XI and 2 or 3 decent subs ... in the last few games, with (at times) Smith, Aasgard, Pearce, Godo, Hughes, Jones, not available, we've obviously shown the lack of depth in the squad, resulting from having to (effectively) build a new one in the summer. However, we all knew about this, so why the hell folk choose to get het up about it is beyond me.

That said, it's all about perspective. From where we started the season, I reckon that being out of the bottom 3 by new year would have been summat most of us (or at least, the sensible realistic ones amongst us) would have been more than happy with.

As it happens, we maybe over achieved early on, and the last 3 games have brought us down to earth a little. Still, with players coming back from injury, we're in a very decent position from which to build another push toward guaranteed safety well before the end of the season.

Of course, the club, manager and players will be judged by the totally unrealistic expectations of some fans, but that's always been the case. Having to play so many young lads all at the same time is never going to be an easy challenge ... though with them being our own academy graduates, I suppose you'd have hoped that they might have avoided some of the more "they're shit" type comments thrown like confetti at other players.

Oh ... and as it can't be said enough ... remember, we still have 31 points, and under normal circumstances would be in 10th ... yet some imbeciles (if the cap fits) call for the manager to be sacked.

Happy day after Boxing Day everyone.

No one ever thought it would be any thing but a relegation battle. But the style of foot ball Is awful Even poor teams create chances. And shots at goal Yesterday what the bloody hell was Humphrey’s doing in the left back position giving the ball away for a goal. He’s a forward. Pub football. Teams are more organised.

It was right back, but other than that, I suppose he'd been back defending a corner.

I get that Humphrys seems to have been given a "roving" brief, and before Godo was injured, the front 4 were all very mobile/interchangeable, but I do agree that he drops back way too deep, and even then, rarely does anything creative with the ball, but simply passes it straight back from where it came, or alternatively, promptly loses it. However, I don't for one second believe the manager's told him to do any of that.
