I think that what p*ssed me off regards that decision was the referee went to check the decision and surely the 4th official could have just told him what happened.To be fair to the Derby game even after the game and multiple replays people have different views on the potential penalty and sending offs. Sometimes the frustration is the rules,or interpretation of them, rather than purely the blame of the ref.The ref has to put up with players trying to get penalties from the slightest touch and players brandishing imaginary cards...the game is to blame as much as the ref on most occasions.


You make a very good point about the players Ingy; and they are just as culpable as far as the current malaise goes.

That does not absolve Referees entirely, particularly that excuse for one on Monday night.

You can look back at games this season, at any level in the English leagues, and the consistent decisions for the three contentious issues would have been, Penalty, Red Card, Red Card - the referee got all three wrong.

He was a very poor specimen.
