Debit cards getting refused

A heads up fellas - sounds like people with TSB debit cards are having their cards rejected for payment this afternoon.

Its a major surprise any of the bank software runs at all, it is all based on a version of windows98 software, and the blokes that initially wrote it are all retired.

Banks will not update, as the costs, and ramifications if it fucks up are too great.

However there charges go up, get away eh.....

I don't know if it was reported in the UK but last year in Ireland Ulster bank (part of nat west i believe) did not complete wage transactions for all there customers who have their salaries paid into their accounts. This went on for over a week and there were people who had no money to live on, the banks also hit these same people for charges when they went overdrawn, they gave half hearted apology but one of my colleagues had to argue with them for 3 months to get credited for the charges that had been levied, one word sums them up........ *****.
