Probably the only area of concern for me is that we don't have a like-for-like replacement for Hopper. If we lose him it will probably necessitate a change of style as we don't have anyone who can do his job in the squad.
I think between Rodgers, Scully and Morton we should be fine and able to get over the line in a match.

How long is Morton out for?

I've not seen any more updates since the 'hopefully February' comments round about Christmas.

But given the transfer window action has not included a striker, either as a loan or permanent, hopefully that's an indication that Morton's rehab and return to training is on track and the management team are happy with the cover options they have.

Looking at one or two Premiership line-ups and formations over the weekend, here's another, slightly curve-ball option : Grant as a 'false 9' slightly withdrawn behind say Scully and Johnson. With Sanders now in the squad it opens that up as an option.

This was the position before the window opened:

Total: 25
Contracted: 21
In on loan: 6
Out on loan: 2

Average age at 31 December 2020: 23 years 0 months
(excluding players out on loan)

At the end of the window:

Total: 24
Contracted: 22
In on loan: 5
Out on loan: 3

Average age at 31 December 2020: 23 years 0 months
(excluding players out on loan)

So, we have one player fewer in the working squad than we had before, but one more under contract; one fewer in on loan, and one more out on loan. And the average age remains exactly the same.
