Crawley Town 2-3 Swansea City

It was an impressive first half but we faded badly after McBurnie made it 3-0 on 46 mins.

A 50th min free kick and the hosts pulled a goal back through Joe McNerney’s far post header. It looks as if Hoorn and Rodon get in each other’s way, both have their feet firmly on the ground as the ball goes over their heads for a McNerney free header.
(Joe McNerney - 6’1” defender, scored one goal in League 2 last season, previously played for Woking in the Conference. Rodon 6’4”, Hoorn 6’3”)

Early days but we’ve got to sort out our set piece defending, a hangover from last season.

A possible reason why we faded in the second half was that Crawley started pre-season training a week before us, and by the end we had 11 different players on, including four players from the U-23’s.
Tuesday night at Yeovil should see us further ahead with our fitness levels.

Swansea City: Kristoffer Nordfeldt (Steven Benda 46); Kyle Naughton (Connor Roberts 46), Mike van der Hoorn (Cian Harries 62), Joe Rodon (Brandon Cooper 62), Jake Bidwell (Declan John 46); George Byers (Jay Fulton 46), Matt Grimes (Jack Evans 62); Nathan Dyer (captain) (Liam Cullen 62), Yan Dhanda (Bersant Celina 46), Barrie McKay (Wayne Routledge 46); Oli McBurnie (Courtney Baker-Richardson 62).
