Couple of comments from Grayson after the match that epitomise some of the things we said on the other thread about Steve Evans and the team he’s built.
“Then for their second the lad chests it down in the box when he’s got three or four yards of space. You didn’t see us getting that sort of opportunity when we were attacking.
Probably very true and why we don’t concede to many. Generally we don’t appear to give the opposition much time in our penalty area. Very strong defensively.
“You know what you are up against with a Steve Evans side”.
I don’t think I ever heard this about a Steve Lovell side (love him as I do) or a Mark Patterson side. Even a Hess side. Opposition managers I think now respect and even fear Gills when they come up against us. They know they are in for a good battle.
