The close season may be boring but it doesn't last long nowadays.
Even though last season only officially ended on Saturday, it is already 30 days since we played our last game. There are just 61 days to go now until the new one begins.
The Festival of Lincolnshire Football is little more than a month away, players are due to return to their clubs for pre-season training in three weeks' time, and several League One managers have stated an intention to have their squads in place by then. The transfer market should start to warm up within the next week or so as managers return from holidays and thieving agents start to get anxious. Football League contracts expire on 30 June and players will want to ensure as much continuity as possible. We should know whether Bury are staying or going on 19 June, which could release a further clutch of players onto the market within Lincoln's financial range.
