Charley Kendall Departs

For some reason church roofs come to mind…..
The report that appeared in the Echo stated that he pleaded guilty to entering a church at Boultham with intent to steal and was fined £50. His solicitor said in mitigation that nothing had been taken and at the time of the offence in February Gilbert had been suffering personal stress.

No doubt the church did have a roof on it.

Yeah, j guess we'll never know what he would have done with the minutes we gave to the likes of Plange and Vale...but as a number of managers now haven't really looked like they fancy him it's probably best for him to move on.

Good luck Charley, a bit of a one hit wonder for us. Hope he works hard and gets back into league football.

In August 1979 we signed 18-year-old goalkeeper Kevin Rose from West Midlands League side Ledbury Town. Said to be a target for several other clubs, he was signed for a fee reported to be worth around £5,000. He was released the following summer without making a first team appearance and returned to Ledbury for a fee said to be less than we'd paid for him.

Went on to have a good FL career though.
