GOAL! Brighton 0-1 Man City (De Bruyne, 17)

MAN CITY'S MAIN MAN DELIVERS! WHAT A HEADER!
It's brilliant from the Belgian who meets Walker's lob into the box with a diving header and guides the ball into the top corner!
City have hardly created anything so far - but some De Bruyne magic has them ahead!
FPL Assist: Walker

Phil Foden

Phil Foden is booed as he steps up to take it... and he scores.

He blasts his free-kick in and it hits the back of Pascal Gross before flying past the goalkeeper.

That's Foden's 50th Premier League goal.

Phil Foden

Phil Foden takes advantage of Brighton's attempts to play it out from the back and gets his second goal of the game.

Brighton play about 10 passes around their box and Bernardo Silva wins the ball off rookie Valentin Barco with Foden sweeping a shot into the bottom corner.

Brighton 0-3 Man City

HT: There goes the half-time whistle ending a near-perfect 45 minutes from Man City's perspective.
Brighton looked decent early on, limiting City with an aggressive press.
But De Bruyne's moment of magic changed the mood.
Foden has swept past the 50 Premier League goals mark with a deflected free-kick and then a clinical finish after Brighton tried to play out in their own box.
This could be a big score for City tonight if they keep their foot on the pedal...

FROM THE MATCHDAY LIVE STUDIO 📺

Paul Dickov on the first half👇
“They're fantastic.
“Getting the early goal helps. Tactically we’ve been amazing.
“Looking at the team sheet before, we thought Foden and Bernardo will be wide but they're playing centrally and causing Brighton problems.
“The fullbacks don't know whether to go in. It's as sharp as I've seen City look in a few weeks.
“They look right at it.”

GOAL! Brighton 0-4 Man City (Alvarez, 62)

ALVAREZ DOES GET HIS GOAL!
What a thump this is from Ederson to pick out Walker who has crept up almost unnoticed on the right wing.
He's in behind Barco and while Steele slides at his feet the ball pops out for Alvarez to steer in City's fourth.
His own drought is over too with that strike.

FULL-TIME

City moved into second spot in the Premier League after a clinical, comprehensive 4-0 win over Brighton.
Pep Guardiola’s men silenced the Amex with a hugely positive performance that helped keep up the charge for our fourth successive top-flight triumph.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with his first headed effort in the Premier League before Phil Foden bagged a brace which saw him blast past a half century of top-flight goals.
Julian Alvarez added a fourth in the second half, producing a clinical finish after a fine burst into the box by our energetic captain Kyle Walker.
Next up, Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

FT: Brighton 0-4 Man City

Gael Clichy
Former Manchester City and Arsenal defender on Sky Sports

This is the game for them. Against a team that will try and play out from the back and will try and play with the ball.

With this combination you can go really far and it's so far, so good, after tonight.

Everything is for them to win.

Job done. Impressed by the energy and work rate of the tea. One or two moments of complacency (Kyle….concentrate) but otherwise we dealt with potentially tricky opponents and we now move on to the next task as the media try their hardest not to panic at the threat to all the work they’ve been doing for the “Arsenal Champions” programmes.

Rednapp after the game was however high in his praise for the work rate of the City team especially in the process that led to the third goal.
