Bournemouth v Swansea, Sat 6 Nov, 15:00
A lot of people will be eating humble pie this morning after last night’s result. Russell Martin asked the fans to be patient whilst the squad got used to his way of playing football and the fitness levels required.
When we were languishing down the bottom of the table his tactics were criticised, but four wins in the last five games have turned things around and we are a point off a play off place after wins over top six sides West Brom and Coventry.
The biggest test of all comes on Saturday where we travel to top of the table Bournemouth. They are in seemingly unstoppable form, unbeaten this season and five wins in their last five games, ten goals for, one against.
Swans in comparison have four wins in their last five games, eleven goals for, four against..
Last time we played three matches in a week we fell to defeat in the third match due to the players being exhausted, but how do you leave out Piroe and Paterson who’ve scored 15 of our 20 goals this season between them.
This time around, after picking the same team for the last two matches it’s inevitable than changes will be made. One positive is that we have an extra day to recover over Bournemouth as they are in action tonight at home to Preston.
