Bogdan close to signing

eastanglianred - 5/7/2017 11:14

Wonder if getting in another keeper in is part dependant on Vlad leaving. No point on having Smith who was first choice, with Henderson and Vlad on the books and bring another keeper in. Think he wants both Hendo and Vlad out but hendo has to prove fitness and Vlad cant get a deal of similar level elsewhere so is mindful to stay.

Henderson is with the squad in Florida so must be working towards full fitness. Not only do we have Smith but we have Dimi and young Erlandsson. So that's 4 in contention. Genuinely we do NOT need another keeper.

I agree Nan. I can see the two young lads going out on loan and then Vlad leaving. This would mean we need another keeper. If Bogdan is good, him and Smith can fight out the No.1 spot and hendo can be third choice.

You say "two young lads" but Dimi is actually a year older than Jordan Smith so Jordan has jumped over him in the rankings. Dimi should have made it by now and I think that it would be in his best interest to find another club.

But we have a new GK coach who perhaps thinks differently to Steve Sutton so who knows?

Just another point on a comment made earlier in this discussion. When folk were saying that Smith made a season defining save against Ipswich someone else pointed out that it was Smith who made an error when he rolled the ball out and gave possession to Ipswich in the first place. Would this same negative opinion apply to Britt, who though he scored the decisive third goal, had previously fluffed a penalty?

They think Hendo maybe fit for the start of the season but he is coming back from an injury and may not really be able to call on him for a few months after.

I think if Bogdan comes in which looks likely Hendo will be loaned out or sold along with Evtimov.

Liverpool aren't looking to develope this guy though, they just want shut. So if he comes I doubt very much that they will have stipulated game time.
I don't know much about Bogdan, but I do think we need a more experienced keeper at the moment.
I think Smith did OK, and I hope he continues his development, however, I'm not sure that right now he's ready for a promotion push. Saying that, I'm more than happy for him to start as our number one.
Yes Pope, I do think we have a shout for top six. After what Reading and Huddersfield did last season I see no reason why we shouldn't push for that top half.

Huddersfield signed 13 players.

We survived on goal difference and are signing Scottish Second Division players. And not many of them!

We either need to do vastly more business

Or Warburton needs to get ridiculously more out of the players he has in terms of results (didn't last year)

It would be a massive surprise to be top six next year and there is absolutely no reason on paper right now why we would be.

It's a funny game of course.

But I don't think it's a particularly helpful suggestion right now!

We've haven't signed a player from the Scottish second division, nor even the first which I presume you meant but from the Premiership. We have allegedly signed another from the Premiership there. You don't need to make things up to act like such a whiney bitch.

And you don't need to be a prick to everyone who posts just to stay relevant. You are the forum equivalent of Katie Hopkins.

How many Scottish Premiership games has Jason Cummings played over the last three seasons?

Irrelevant to the discussion, you as usual talked a load of shit. Got caught out and tried to reframe the discussion without acknowledging your errors.

How many Scottish League 2 games did he play then since you insist he came from there?

Genuinely had to Google who Katie Hopkins is, the fact you know says a great deal about you.

I never said Scottish League two.

I said Scottish second division, as in the second division in Scotland. If I had meant Scottish League two, I would have said Scottish League two.

You've caught out fook all, and anyone who ever bothers to read a newspaper on any side of the political spectrum will have heard of Katie Hopkins. Perhaps not the Financial Times or the Morning star

I read the FT and the Guardian. It's been obvious for a while that your reach exceeded your grasp, the references to reality television stars pretty much pigeon hole you nicely.

As per usual you were wrong and can't admit it. Somethings never change :) at least it's not having to explain the mechanics of FFP this time.

If you read the Guardian then you will have heard of Katie Hopkins because they absolutely hate her.

That's literally just the first few results from Google.

You can't be reading very much of the Guardian chap :19:

I am indeed likely to skip over irrelevant articles about reality TV stars. I also generally skip the TV and travel sections...

Many of these were headlines. Do you skip over those too?

What about the opinion section? I appreciate you don't care for opinions other than your own

Katie Hopkins appeared on reality TV ten years ago. She is the British equivalent of a shock jock now and is written about very frequently in the guardian as one of the lead stories. Her recent loss of a court case over slander and advocacy of internment camps following the London bridge attack garnered particular attention.

I know it suits your classist agenda to claim you've never heard of her in order to paint me as some kind of peasant, but as someone who reads the Guardian every day I would say that either you don't or you are lying

Surely we are not signing both Bogdan and Liam Bossin...

Bossin is for the u23s.

Bogdan is for the first team.

Yes I realise that BD mate.
I suppose it's okay but we need to shift Vlad and Evtimov and what about Erlandsson.
Heard Bossin is very close, perhaps be annouced today.

Forgot about the new coach so you are probably right. Each coach will see something slightly different and will also depend on the players attitude / personalities etc.
He may think they are all not upto the job!

Bossin already signed mate, so I guess might be today or tomorrow. 2 year deal for him.

Don't get me wrong Pope, I'm certainly not suggesting that we should be top six or anything, just that it's a funny league and if we can get a decent start, I wouldn't rule it out. Right now would be happy with a mid table improvement.

Twice we have gone into seasons expecting/ hoping to be the high end of the bottom half of the table and ended up in the playoffs -2003 and 2010.

You never know, but doing so this year would be as surprising as those two seasons were

Perhaps you've a touch more free time than me with your part time job?

You've got more than 4000 posts more than me and you were away for how many years?

Your job allows you to read two newspapers (with a blind spot where it suits you) as well as post extremely frequently.

Attacking me with hypocrisy to hide your own bullshit is probably not a good idea.

But anyway, enough. I've proved my point and there is actual football to talk about

I really didnt know who katie hopkins was. apparently a daily mail writer?
most my circles are lefties n liberals so i guess i just bypass that right wing rhetoric
