Blackburn v Swansea Tuesday 9 March 18:00
Next up it’s Blackburn and another long trip for the players in this relentless schedule of matches this season. It’s one of our two games in hand after the original fixture was postponed on Tue 19 Jan due to a waterlogged pitch at Ewood Park.
On Saturday Blackburn won 0-2 at Millwall to gain their first win in 8 games, it was Millwall’s first defeat in 5 games.
Swans also won last time out 2-1 in a tough game against Middlesboro with a last minute penalty.
Our reverse fixture last October against Blackburn ended in a 2-0 win for us with headed goals, one from Cabango, one from Ayew.
Steve Cooper: “It was a tough game and truth be told in the first half it took us a while to get settled, but in the second half I thought we were better and more of the game was in Blackburn's half.
Not every game can be one for the purist and we accept that, even though it is what we aim for.
Blackburn have scored more goals than anyone and you can see why, so we showed good attributes to win the game of football.
We are very pleased to get the three points and a clean sheet. The second goal was excellent, that's the team we want to be."

FT: 1-1
Poor show from us tonight, Blackburn the better team. We looked jaded.
Let’s hope Blackburn play as well against Brentford on Friday.
Limited chances, one shot on target throughout, sub Dhanda skied two shots over the bar when well placed, another skied shot from Ayew.
Blackburn looked like the team going for promotion not us, but their finishing let them down.
Blackburn six defeats in the last ten games, hard to believe.

Woodman, Hourihane, Lowe and Dhanda were very poor again.

Regarding key defender Marc Guehi going off last night at half-time with a groin strain. How long he’s going to be out of action depends how bad the injury is, let’s hope it’s only a Grade 1.
As a general guide, you can expect to rest several weeks before you're able to return to full activities after a groin strain. Depending on the grade of your strain, here's estimated recovery times:
Grade 1: two to three weeks.
Grade 2: two to three months.

IF we carry on playing like this, we're going to have to settle for the play-offs and by then we'll be low on confidence and knackered with nothing to give us that boost going into those knock out games. Luton win is crucial before we play Bournemouth and Cardiff after that.

We managed just 1 shot on target and that was the penalty, the others were mainly off target from outside the box. This has been the trend for too long now, desperately need to shape up if we're looking for autos.

I know, it’s a worrying time for us Swans fans as we go off the boil at the worse possible time. The hectic schedule is taking its toll with tired legs, we need to rotate the squad but Steve Cooper is reluctant. Luton will have had the whole week off to lick their wounds after the 3-0 defeat at Norwich and prepare for this match, so expect a tough encounter.
