Ange may have lost the dressing room...

Now get the man a specialist set piece coach & get this bloody thing started.
This is where Ange has to demonstrate that he is a leader who can recognise, understand and address weaknesses in the squad and set up. By appointing a set piece coach we would all get a little glow as we would see that he is the person we want in charge and improvement will be achieved.

Ange is at fault for this slump because he is like Conte. His inability to change systems according to opposition or during the game when things are not working. Conte was the same with his defensive style. I have watched and kept quiet this season as I was very vocal on my disapproval of Ange's appointment. I have watched and looked on as we keep possession without any real penetration. We are so easy to beat and easy to keep out. I was praying I was wrong but for his and the club's sake he should go

No matter the coach the end result is much the same. Failure by the players.
Unlike the previous few manager Ange has a good set of players in every position, light on depth, but we have a fully fit set of players and we are stinking the place out

What could Conte/Jose do with a CB pairing of VDV/Romero rather than the players they had, how about Maddison?

Ange has the perfect full backs for his system

The players are not faultless, but the squad is not as bad as being shown

Certainly a massive contrast in performance as the season has unfolded
AP approach was worked out very quickly when that happens you need a plan b
Has he got one, at the moment it doesn't appear so.
Are we in losing the dressing room territory yet, all the haters would love that
Let's just stick with it for now

It's not a bad squad but it's certainly a disillusioned one. There's no way this is just down to his tactics, they're not being executed by some.

I understand your view, I've disassembled what he does well and what he doesn't do as well, but he has turned it around, even if for this season our record against our London rivals is pretty dreadful - there are multiple reasons for that, not excuses but genuine reasons.

We were both praying we were wrong, but overall I'm encouraged that better results can come with right 3 or 4 additions come the summer.

It's time to be patient and see how this develops.

We are now in exactly the same place le arse fans were 4 years ago - still remnants of the old guard to deal with, and hopefully most of that can be done in the summer, and the hopefully with a proper preseason for some of the post injury walking wounded, we can expect something much better next season.

Good to see you back PJ.

Romero in defence is part of the problem, he's gone from a roaring lion to a pussycat in the space of a season.

He may also be one of the whingers. I can't but help smell a player who may soon be angling for a move..

He made comments in the summer from memory
Barca/Real need CBs, I can see him going there.

Ahem. I distinctly remember quite a few people complaining about that roaring lion!

Anyway, I agree with your assertion that he needs moving into a defensive midfield role along with Bentancur, assuming Bents is healthy and in tune with the direction, that's decent depth in that position. VdV needs a solid partner with pace. There are several kicking around.

You can roar and use brains, he finally started using his brain, but has turned his roar off..

I just have not seen anything from him. He sets his team up and never deviates from his plan. If we are losing and his plan is not working he still keeps going without change. I just cannot see anything. At the beginning he was new but soon as he had been here a while he was found out. Looking at him he looks like he is struggling and is out of ideas. At Celtic he could just go out and attack. Let's hope after a season he realises he cannot do that. He just looks out of his depth.

Good to speak ex

Just think you hit the nail on the head there!

His embargoed presser again shows him talking a good game.
And talks complete sense.
I'll bet half the squad are packing their bags this evening.
But he is so single minded. And he jokes about it.
But we don't have the resources of our rivals.
I'm genuinely torn on how I think this will work out.
It's going to be a ride.

We never seem to do anything the easy way. Hell, even our Cup triumphs were edge of the seat stuff over the years. It's why i believe we should let this run its course. You never know, i could be a bumpy road all the way to the top.

In the meantime why not enjoy the experience of our women reaching the FA Cup final, even if we have onle a small chance of pulling off a shock and winning it!

The first thing Ange needs to do is to cut out all of the unnatural acts that he asking the players to perform. He needs to work towards his disruptive tactics rather than do the big bang implementation and expect the players just to get them. He has some cool ideas but has inevitably scrambled their heads too early trying to get them to work.

As an example, I would ditch the current all-action full-back play and just get them back to playing orthodox.

I’ve just read through the thread. It seems to me that Ange should be invited to join the forum because everything he needs to know, and consider, regarding football, the PL, THFC, the supporters, and his own performance as a manager, is covered from all perspectives within these comments.

We all know that football is about a lot more than simply running on to the park and kicking a bit of leather around for fun; which is what most of us thought, and did, when we were kids. It’s much more complicated than that. In fact it is so complicated that I often find myself agreeing with two conflicting comments! Usually my comments originate from my heart and bypass my brain. They are often more positive and optimistic than reality dictates and I know that, but that’s what I cling to in order to survive being a Spurs supporter.

Personally I think our season has already ended. Whatever happens in the remaining four games will make little difference to how things stand today; whether we win all four or lose all four the comments on this thread will remain just as relevant. The same issues discussed on here will need to be addressed. The key question will remain; how will THFC , in its entirety, address them.

Should Ange leave, by choice or by force, THFC, with a questionable history of merry-go-round managers across the last two decades, will become more of a laughing stock than it already is. Surely he has to stay for one more season so that all the whatifs, maybes, shoulds, shouldnots, are pushed to their limits and are able to be seen clearly through experienced and more focussed eyes. If he leaves now we will never know. And if it doesn’t work out; what’s one more season to add to the many gone before.

I agree with every word Geoff. However, the ball is his court. (maybe he needs to switch to tennis?). We saw how an experienced manager Graham Potter buckled under the pressure of adverse comment and Ange is definitely showing some discomfort. Hopefully the hierarchy are doing everything to reassure him, so he can ride out the storm. I hope I'm wrong but with summer tours and Euros to contend with, attitude changing will be hard to achieve before the start of next season.
