Strangely it started as a historic search. I was wondering if there ever had been a Queen of the south of Scotland. Then I stumbled on all time great players who played for them.Good find Chris enjoyed reading that.

This any help. Dumfries (where QoS play) was called the Queen of the South by a local poet named David Dunbar in a speech in the House of Commons after the general election in 1857. In time it became a nickname of the town. The local team The Wanderers renamed themselves Queen of the South. The were defunct by 1900, but in 1919 they were reformed.
