Absolutely rediculous!

Quite enjoyed Neymar maths on the BBC. For the transfer fee, apparently you could:

- Cover the entire area of Barcelona in spaghetti
- Buy enough silver to make 65,000 Champions League trophies... rather than spending this much to have a go at one with Neymar.
- Buy a crate of beer for everyone in Netherlands

Excellent didn't see that

Glad I've cancelled my sky subscription! The bubble will burst sooner or later.
Virgin are putting their prices up which means the others will.

See my earlier posts. Its not sky alone. The premier league is watched by over a billion people world wide. Then there's the rest of European leagues. Fans want shirts, momentos and TV rights. It's profitable but has driven obscene player salaries in Europe as club success pays for it.

At least pays for itself, for now.

Let's face it folks it's no different from our leagues but we are on a tiny scale. Have money, buy good managers who buys players and it's not certain but eventually you will succeed. We did it in a year.

Perhaps a bit sinical but it's the same in motorsport as well.

The PL are adamant they're nowhere near their saturation point, though. TV deal wise, I'm not sure there's much more in there, but I've said that for the last couple of auctions for the rights.

The Qatar owners of PSG will be tying this in with 2022 as Rasen says. Neymar will be the poster boy and paid a massive amount for that as well.

His gross wage is £775,000 a week according to BBC:

PSG are owned by a Qatar back investment group
Pretty sure Barcelona had a shirt Sponsor's deal with the national airline from Qatar
????

If Qatar carry on as they are doing (i.e falling out with their Arab neighbours), then this could be the most expensive World Cup ever but with no-one there......its not about money though is it Mr Blatter?

Ring Virgin up on the "thinking of leaving" number and you might find they'll put their prices down :)

I did exactly the same with Sky. The down side is that they tie you into another 12-month contract if you accept their price reduction.

Heard on the radio this morning that Cristiano Ronaldo earns in total over £1M a week
He apparently does, yeah, but not in football wages. That's football, business, image rights, sponsors etc.

Whole thing has brought up a good laugh though, from Tory LBC commentator Andrew Pierce (https://twitter.com/toryboypierce/status/893091699739811841)

"Britain gives £80m aid to Brazil which breaks football transfer record by selling player 4 £198m. Something wrong here"

:pointy: Astonishing stupidity.

Yeah, I think he's being a bit(!) stupid there. Completely got that wrapped around his nuts. :pointy:
