V VENN Diagram - invented by John Venn. Used to show relationships between sets. Was rubbish at math but I liked doing Venn Diagrams.

W - Wellington. Capital of New Zealand named in 1840 for the Duke of Wellington (as was the boot!).

Y - YALE Lock - invented by Linus Yale Jnr. It's a lock that uses pins of varying sizes which stops the lock from opening unless you have the right key (or a hacksaw)

Z - Zeppelin. A type of rigid airship named after its inventor Ferdinand von Zeppelin.
