N NEYMAR - full name Neymar da Silva Santos Junior. Brazilian football currently plying his trade in France with Paris Saint-Germain. Perhaps one of the most talented footballers of modern time?
 
... or... (The) OX - nickname of John Entwistle (1944-2002) of rock band, The Who. Musician, singer and songwriter . Usually played bass guitar. He also performed with his own band "The Ox," in periods when The Who had no scheduled tours. Saw "The Ox " band play live - they were good. P PELE- (1940-2022) Brazilian footballer and three times World Cup winner. Member of the Brazil World Cup winning squad 1958,1962 and 1970. Real name Edson Arantes Nascimento. Born in Brazil and played for Santos football club, then later New York Cosmos in the USA. Probably the greatest mononymous sporting character of all time. He reportedly didn't really like the name "Pele".

S STING - front man of the Police born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner in Wallsend. He got his nickname after his habit of wearing a black and yellow jumper with hooped stripes that made him look like a wasp. He was awarded the CBE in 2003 for his services to the music industry.
 
... or ... SWAMPY - environmental campaigner. Real name Daniel Marc Hooper. He was born in Luton in 1973. He rose to fame in 1996 because of his involvement in the protest against the new A30 road extension in Devon. He later worked for the Forestry Commission and he is still an environmental activist.

U UFFIE - American-French singer/songwriter/rapper/DJ. Real name Anna-Catherine Hartley. Born in Florida ,USA (09/12/87), but from a French family background. Her recordings are synthpop/electro/dance music. Probably best known for "Pop the Glock" (2009). Clip on YouTube.

Her name came about because when she was misbehaving as a child, her father would say "Enough!"... that sounded like "Un oeuf" (an egg in French).... which then became "Oeufy/Uffie".

Z ZIPPY - Millers superfan. Real name John Norris. Previously posted on this website as Zip-a Dee-Doo-Dah . Attended 1172 consecutive Rotherham United games between 1996 and 2019. The sequence was broken because he had a bad 'flu infection. I have met him many times and most Millers fans will have done too.
