Think it takes a bit of getting used to but I don't dislike Wasabi - in small doses.W - Wasabi. Also known as Japanese Horseradish. Native to Japan and parts of eastern Russia. The rhyzomes are used to make a pungent paste with a flavour like hot mustard or horseradish.

Y - Yuzu Kosho is a type of Japanese seasoning. It is a paste made from chili peppers, yuzu peel and salt, which is then allowed to ferment. It is usually used as a condiment for nabemono dishes, miso soup, and sashimi. Yuzu is a fruit that looks like a lemon and has a flavour of orange, lemon and grapefruit. It's very sharp and quite bitter.
