G - (The) GREEN BERETS - awful Vietnam War film starring John Wayne (1968).
Sort of (!) based on the novel of the same name by Robin Moore (1965) . Took a hammering from the film critics at the time - one described it as being like a typical John Wayne "cowboys and indians" film, but set in Vietnam!

or... "(The) green jacket/[L'habit vert" - 1937 French comedy film, based on an earlier stage play, starring Elvira Popesco, Victor Boucher and Jules Berry. (Not seen it)

I - Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. Brian Hyland song from 1960. Strange to say out of the blue this song came into my head a few days ago and stayed as a darn earworm.

... or "KHAKI SUIT", song by reggae/hip-hop singer-songwriter Damian Marley (2005). Clip on YouTube. Bob Marley was his his dad.

Khaki suits are also mentioned by Althea and Donna in their UK reggae hit single "Uptown Top Ranking" from 1977. Could have been where Damian Marley got the idea from.

O - The Bespoke Overcoat is a 1956 British black and white short film based on a 1953 play of the same name by Wolf Mankowitz. The story is an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's short story The Overcoat with the action moved from Russia to the East End of London. In this version the protagonists are poor Jews working in the clothing trade, played by Alfie Bass and David Kossoff. It won an Oscar in 1957 for Best Short Subject (Two-Reel).
I chose this because oddly it is the first film I ever remember watching on our old B&W TV in the 1950s in East Herringthorpe.

Q "(The) QUEEN'S TIARA" - classic Swedish novel by C.J.L. Almqvist (1834). The film "Tintomara" is based on the novel. ( It's not really clothing, but it is worn).

... or "(The) Queen's clothes" - book by Robb Edwards (1977). Not the football manager. :p

Haven't read either of them.
