A-Z Doctors and Nurses in Fiction

Another Z is Dr ZAIUS from Planet of the Apes who was (I quote) a 'leading member of the Ape National Assembly, Minister of Science and also Chief Defender of the Faith'. So, actually, probably not a real doctor at all.

Z Dr ZHIVAGO - well known epic film (1966) which starred Omar Sharif in the title role of the physician/poet character. The film is a historical romance, set in Russia during WW1, the Russian Revolution and aftermath. It was based on the novel by Boris Pasternak. Also appearing in the film - Julie Christie, Alec Guinness, Tom Courtnay, Ralph Richardson, etc. Also has a memorable theme tune.

I was tempted to be a bounder on this one and use Dr Zhivago on Y as his first name was Yuri.
