Further proof that there is no consistency in L2 this season.

In the few weeks of 2024 so far the form of the top teams has been surprisingly bad.

Since December 31st:

Stockport, Mansfield, Wrexham and AFC Wimbledon have all lost 3 games.
MKDons and Notts County have lost 4.
Barrow have lost 5.

The Gills have only lost 2.

The form teams currently are Crewe, Harrogate and Morecambe who've only lost 1.
 
Seem to remember that both Pulis's and Allen's promotions were based on team that had excellent start of the season form which definitely tailed off towards the end of the season.
 
Inconsistency seems to be rife in L2 which explains why there are so many surprise results each match day. Arguably it's down to individual quality, more consistent players are likely to be in L1 or higher. Makes for a competitive division with so many teams in the hunt for promotion.
 
If Sutton can beat Notts County 5-1, Tranmere can beat Stockport 4-0 and Barrow can lose at home to FGR and away to the Squatters, no result is a foregone conclusion.

Mansfield and Crewe seem to be the most solid and consistent sides and rarely suffer a shock defeat.

Trying to work out if all this means we are about to get all 6 points out of Stockport and Wrexham or none at all?
