Well a predictable poor batting performance from us. Younus Khan showed what was possible on the wicket. Way too many fielding errors from both sides but especially England.
Indeed, England's batting line up needs a shake up before the winter tours as 2 or 3 of them aren't test match players imho at the moment at least. Need to go to county cricket and sort their game out like Bairstow and Woakes did so well.
When our top order batsmen score runs we tend to win. Cook, Hales, Root, Vince and Balance need to do their job. We rely to often on lower orders batsmen like Bairstow, Ali and Woakes to dig us out of trouble.
Well that was good. Stokes made 69, the recalled Bairstow 61 and Moeen Ali an unbeaten 45 as we recovered from 72-4 to chase 248 with two overs to spare at Headingley. That'll be 4-0 then with just Sunday in Cardiff to go.
Rain has stuffed up the county matches today. Looking at the table we really need to do something with the four day format. Way too many matches drawn. Somerset played 13 drawn 9.
