Europa Conference League 2023/4

Got to love that in a year that English clubs dominating in Europe would actually help us they've all decided to just be shit when it mattered.

Bar ourselves of course. Let's show these pricks how it's done tomorrow.
Very much prepared for a very difficult game tomorrow and the possibility we too could get knocked out.

Lille players and managers are really playing us up. Fonseca said we had no weaknesses but he only said that after we played them and they were very dangerous. So obviously that’s just not true. Jonathan David saying our defenders were too strong for him in the last game. Again I think he just had an off night.

Huge game, Lille are very good and well coached. Some solid players too. We could batter them. They could put 3 past us. It could be 0-0 or 4-4.

Massive test for us these 7 days between Arsenal-Lille-Bournemouth.

Tonight will be a really tough game. It's undoubtedly the two best sides in the competition coming up against each other. They won ligue 1 not that long ago and have a very highly rated manager. They're also the level of side that we will find populating pots 3/4 in the champions league should we qualify. A good test.

We could be the last English club standing in Europe tonight. Let's hope the Arsenal win doesn't go to their heads and Unai has them firing from the off.
This is it, stay grounded.

Maybe we are all worried for nothing as Lille performed as well as they could in the first game and Villa were slightly off. Let's hope we can bring another second half Arsenal performance to the table, control the game, go up early in the game and rest the initiative from them.

Looks like people are having a good time before kick-off.

Let's hope all Villans are equally happy at the end of the game.

Great atmosphere around the shops and bars of Lille and have to say whilst we apparently have only 2600 tickets there’s Villans everywhere….seems to be much more milling around than there were in Amsterdam. Got a feeling there are going to be plenty in the home seats and probably a fair few here with no tickets at all. Just hope those not in the Villa section behave themselves!
Just about to wander up to the ground now from our hotel which is only a ten minute walk away…hold onto your hats boys n girls…here’s hoping for another happy ending…COYVB……. :utv: :utv: :utv: :utv:

Enjoy Langoe, and bring back the W please. Or even the D.

Lille supporters will be as if not more worried about tonight than us. They're a goal behind and playing a team that almost always score. They likely need to score three to win it before penalties.

This is the first time they've ever sold out the stadium, highest attendance prior was a game vs. PSG back in 2019. There is at least 5,000 Villans in that stadium tonight.

Only a theory, but does anyone think that Uni may prioritise the Premier League over the conference league now that 5th probably won't get the Champions League, and we are very likely to qualify for the Europa League by ending as low as 5th. Achieving 4th in league will give us CL and 5th will net us the EL anyway, so no real need to win this competition unless It's for the prestige or money.

The start of another Euro adventure...at Manchester airport for our flight to Brussels, then a bus across to Lille! Looks like plenty of Villans are doing the same, plenty of claret n blue in terminal 3 this morning! Been to Warsaw and Ajax but this feels different being 2nd leg and knockout...the old nerves will soon be jangling!! Could be another great away day hot on the heels of Sunday....here's hoping! COYVB.....:utv::utv::utv::utv:
No flights from BHX?
