Ipswich Town

Them building a 60k stadium is like us building a 25k stadium. Most of the time it’ll be less than half full even with free tickets given out. They’ve got a good fanbase but Villa are better supported and there are other big clubs in the area. Worst mistake they made though was sacking Eustace when they were doing well. I think they’ll end up in a right mess if they go down this year.
The plans to develop the speedway stadium seem strange, it is a very run down area, it also seems to be hemmed in by railway lines.

They have just been taken over by USA financiers so money no object, at the moment.

Local big clubs? Not really, only Villa.
Walsall, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton are different towns/cities. The Midlands has nothing like the club density of Lancashire/Manchester/Salford. Never-ending the distraction of Rugby League.

Birmingham is the second largest city in the country and the club that bears their name are based within walking distance of the city centre. They've always been a sleeping giant and like I said are one of the only clubs left in England with actual potential for significant growth. There's absolutely no reason why they can't have a story identical to Man City breaking out from beneath Man Utd's shadow if their owners are rich and ambitious enough. But they'll need to hope FFP is a distant memory though before they reach the Prem or they'll run into the same problems as others.

Ironically, now is probably the best time for them to go down. Gives them five years or however long it takes to build everything for them to get their house in order on the pitch.
