Chairboys away

Can someone explain why we seem incapable of crossing a ball at a higher height than 6 inches.

As exciting as Godo is why doesn't he use the space he has to cross the ball instead of dribbling his way into a one yard square box with him and two defenders occupying the space.

Much better 2nd half. Pity Sze went off. He at least tried to shoot.

Jordan Jones standard of crossing when he did manage to get it beyond the first man was bloody awful tonight.

Wycombe owed their goalie at least 2 points with some good saves in the last ten minutes.

Why and how do we have all that energy and determination in the 90th to 97th minutes. Maybe our players did not leave it all out on the pitch?

I think we all need to get real. We’re not as good as we think we are. Really shocking effort and a Jack of end product all game. Maloney has a job on his hands getting rid of the dross and rebuilding for next season. I don’t think it’s him, the players are not good enough and are letting him down with their effort

If the players aren't good enough how can we win 5 out of 7 games against the top 4?

Lang looked poor for us this season but he's been great for Portsmouth.

We just under perform nearly every week.

Poor all round.

Very poor from a goalkeeper that prefers to parry the ball away rather than get his body behind it and catch the ball.

Poor from Scott Smith allowing his man to get away so easily.

Humphrys should be left out for the rest of the season as he is clearly either not interested or not fit.

The biggest problem we have is that we can't break down teams that park the bus.

Godo cannot use his right foot and seems unwilling to take players on on the outside.

Jordan Jones is great up to the time it comes to cross the ball and then simply can't do it.

To all those that say this team is underperforming, these players are not as good as you believe. They are still too inexperienced to turn games around and don't have the ability that some believe them to have. They will improve with time but not this season.

They are not improving under Maloney players are going backwards

If the players are as good as you say, how come we lose so many games to lower opposition ?

Surely you have to credit some of the under performance to players that aren't good enough or experienced enough.

Having wide players who can run with the ball (Jones, McManaman, J Smith, Godo) is great but it’s our only threat at the moment. We piss about and eventually give it to one of them and expect them to do something. The strikers don’t move, midfielders don’t make runs forward and we don’t have any shots from in and around the box.

I can remember one forward pass through the middle of the pitch tonight, it gave Sze a chance to shoot. That should be happening all the time and players should be looking to find space and give the man with the ball an option.

We’re constantly playing it safe and going sideways or backwards unless our wingers run forwards with the ball. If Maloney doesn’t change and we lose Jones in the summer and we’re fucked next season. He’s kept this team going for quite a while now with his direct running and positivity.

The manager will doubtless bang on about ‘managing their workload’ but we don’t have the depth/quality to do that, which is not his fault but not picking his best eleven from the players available certainly is.
We aren’t playing significantly more games than anyone else are we?

How many times are we seeing 3 HT subs ?….that ought not to be necessary

We’ve seen plain and clear how dull, uncreative and severely limited Wycombe are and it’s hugely frustrating that we can’t beat a side as poor as them, in fact we can’t even scramble a draw.

SCM’s point about crosses and delivery into the box is absolutely spot on, Jones is a good winger at this level, pace and trickery …but…he can’t cross the road.

We’ve given away a very poor goal (S Smith and Tickle both contributed) but on its own it really shouldn’t have been enough.

I veremently disagree with that and counter a decent manager who knows what he is doing would get far more out of this squad, players have gone backwards under him Maloney is the "dross" and needs "getting rid of"

These players have proven how good they are against the top sides but against all the shit sides are completely complacent and only wake up after half time and we've made 3 subs and panic sets in.

The ability of the squad is not the issue.

You forgot to add Magennis in your rant, yes players will improve but only under a different manager/coaches, whether it be here or elsewhere.

Take Callum Lang for instance.

Players can raise their game against better opposition, we all know that from cup games, but when faced with supposedly lower opposition they revert to type.

The ability and experience IS the issue.
