    Julian Burley: 100,000 Not Out

Well done Jules, and thank you. Always a well structured site which is easy to navigate and find interesting topics. You make my train journeys and long dog walks much more interesting! You make a positive difference in more ways than you know

6 - was ok nothing more. Their Taylor absolutely smashed into Jensen, yellow all day long, but so their skipper over. I don’t think he managed the physical tussles very well, where he seemed to just give random decisions. Better than the last two though!

Lack of intensity, are we tired? Fabulous goal by Taylor, ref is poor but not as bad as the previous two (yet)

    1. I thought we’d reached the depths of inept referees and assts on Saturday- last night it was worse. This guy had no clue what should constitute a yellow card. Some of ours were laughable, yet he should if booked TJ for a shirt pull but didn’t. I thought for a long time he wasn’t going to book...

Just home, oh what a night, beating the 12 men of Oxford (on the pitch), plus another Lino who couldn’t keep up with play. Players were magnificent and the fans matched them - that’s the best away end I’ve been in for a long long time. Need sleep with ‘red and white army’ still on repeat in my head!

Had chance to see the highlights rather than my deceptive view from the SW, both offsides were correct, the second was very clever from their defender - he checked his run as new is was doing to be done for pace. The ball out of play - a truly awful decision. My opinion but it is an expert one...

    2. He was crap. They like a shirt pull, missed loads, gave some and inexplicably did caution a really obvious one he gave. Is doesn’t understand the shoulder charge rule, getting one wrong each way. Control - had none, he completely lost that game as shown by whatever the lad who was subbed was...

Rate the ref: Away to Carlisle 1.4 2024

Technically he was poor. Typified by a throw that should have been taken half way in their half which was taken on the halfway line. Thought he’d left his cards at home. He hasn’t improved, it was just a relatively quiet game. 4

Brilliant! I thought I heard at the end of Saturday but it didn’t get going, great to hear it last night. I also heard the Magic Hat song on Saturday, couldn’t catch which player was wearing it, I guess Alex Mitchell. Always good to recycle and update the old favourites!

7 mildly decent. Looked a pen on Recco even from where we are, but got the indecent assault on Duffy correct for the pen. Amazed non of ours were booked for time wasting, though he did chivvy them along a bit

    4. I managed to find no commentary on iFollow, which was great. The number of times I was mumbling at the screen in the second half ‘that’s a foul’, ‘that’s a yellow’ - turned into favouring Charlton as the game went on, lost the bottle to upset the natives. Weak refereeing

Horton was ok, though now thinks he’s a poet! When I heard Toni was on, I had visions of Joey Barton warming up his keyboard - but she was excellent and loved how she was getting emotional involved in the game. She’d have blown our ears off if we’d have scored! Credit where credit is due, well...
