Transfer Window Summer 2023

Former Lincoln City loanee Tashan Oakley-Boothe is on trial at League One side Blackpool following his release from Stoke City, sources have informed The Real EFL.

The youngster spent last season at Sincil Bank in a dismal loan spell that saw him branded as “disinterested” in appearances towards the end of the season. Despite linking up with the Imps as an exciting youth full of potential he soon found himself out of the squad for the majority of the season with the club having seven players in the club on loan deals, with only five allowed in the matchday squad. He was still able to make 25 outings before returning to his parent club, only to be released at the end of his contract. Lincoln opted not to offer the player a deal.

Sky Sports News tonight claimed that the Seasiders have had a £250,000 bid for Moxon turned down.

United could not be reached for comment tonight.

The report is the first suggestion of a bid this summer for the Denton Holme star, who was the Cumbrians' player of the season in 2022/23.

His outstanding performances in Paul Simpson's promotion-winning side last season earned Moxon widespread plaudits - and fears among fans that he could be targeted by bigger clubs

Moxon is a star of the future definitely and SS needs to put his hand in his pocket to secure. Got to be worth 500K at least.

Nixon saying we are in for Scott Banks. Attacking 21yr old midfielder from Palarse who won young player of the year at Bratfud where he was on loan last season.

Blackpool are making a bid of £500,000 for Crystal Palace’s young forward Scott Banks, according to journalist Alan Nixon on a post via his Patreon.

Scott Banks was a standout performer for Bradford City on loan from Crystal Palace last season. This superb form has caught the eye of Blackpool boss, Neil Critchley, the 20 year old has also been of interest to League Two side Stockport County and would require a fee due to his contract at Selhurst Park. Blackpool are reportedly set to bid £500,000 to secure the Scotsman’s signiture.
Blackpool are making an ambitious £500,000 bid for Crystal Palace’s Scottish play maker Scott Banks.

“Boss Neil Critchley is offering more than Stockport for Banks who spent last season on loan at Bradford.

“Banks may need to spread his wings and leave Palace for regular action. A Championship club is also taking an interest but is looking at a loan deal”

Who is Scott Banks?

Born in Linlithgow, the wide-man spent his youth progressing through the ranks at Dundee United, scoring his first professional goal on loan at Clyde.

Going on to impress with The Terras in pre season, Banks made his debut for the club against Hearts in
the Scottish League Cup before the club turned down a bid of £400,000 from Crystal Palace. However, the forward still went on to sign for The Eagles the following January after rejecting a new deal at Tannadice Park.

He was immediately loaned out back to Scotland, joining Alloa Athletic and Dunfermline Athletic until he made his EFL debut for Bradford City after signing on a season long loan for the West Yorkshire club.

Having a breakout season in League Two, the young Scotsman registered six goals and three assists in 29 League Two outings for the club, being named as the Supports Trust Young Player of the Year in a season where The Bantams were eliminated in the play offs.

Banks has also represented the Scottish National Team at U19 and U21 level.

Critchley’s Revolution

Last season, Blackpool were relegated from the Championship only two seasons after Critchley took The Tangerines to Wembley glory in 2020-21.

Now, the returning manager has a large rebuild on his hands if Blackpool are to challenge for an instant return to the second tier. With the loss of talisman Jerry Yates to Swansea City, Blackpool have reinvested the money as Matthew Pennington, Oliver Norburn and Albie Morgan are amongst the new faces at Bloomfield Road

Writer’s View

Neil Critchley has always got the best out of his players at Bloomfield Road. This move would be excellent for the player’s development.

Banks is a very exciting young player with potential future sell on value and would be a huge asset to any club below the Championship, I feel Blackpool would be a very good environment for the player.

Nixon saying the Banks situation is moving fast.

Blackpool are keen on Aston Villa defender Josh Feeney as the Premier League side prepare to send him out on loan, Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.

I'm not a big believer of huge squads, There's only so much attention a manager can give to the individual. Heads do drop eventually. Its a bit like the mad plate spinner running back and forth without concentrating on the real job at hand.

Being linked with Martyn Waghorn in a few places today, supposedly between us and Derby with us being in the lead.

Certainly be a good move for me, but suprised we'd be able to get in ahead of Derby (but then again, they haven't already re-signed him by now so maybe there is an issue there!).
