Could we have already sold him and don't want to risk the deal by playing him?
 
Or, he could just be injured?
Isn't the first, won't be the last to arrive and immediately get injured.
Rotten luck for the lad, I'd say.
I've never come across a single player who is happy to be out due to injury.

A more plausible theory is that we never actually signed him but that one of his brothers have been impersonating him whenver he appears.

His one first team appearance came on a day when Arsenal weren't playing. A coincidence? Maybe.
