Doesnt matter how much youre on does it really. Higher earnings and bigger mortgage, more expensive holidays and cars.
£30-00 plus kids and refreshments is still a lot.

So 350 is a majority in a town of 90k plus. 23k average salary yet the majority are on zero hours contracts? That means a lot of people are making a Hell of a lot of money.

it's a bit like the national average wage is 500 pound a week yet not many people earn it in Wigan

£500 a week is just over £25k..... Not a lot different to 23.

Regardless, if folk can't afford to go, or are otherwise disposed (eg working), then fair enough.

If it was money pricing people out of games then when we drop the prices to £10 a game like we have the stadium would be rammed and it never is. We had City and West Ham here last year at cut prices and we didn't sell out.

The reason we don't have better attendances is down to a lack of interest rather than a whole town being priced out.

There are always some people who can't afford to go or will be at work etc, but the club charges about £39 a month installments over 8 months for an adult season ticket and kids season tickets work out at £23 a season. If someone is desperate to go it works out at putting aside about £15 a week for an adult and 2 kids season tickets, you can keep the cost down by not buy a programme or food inside the ground. If you can't afford to put £15 a week aside to take your 2 kids to every league game you are unlikely to be willing or able to afford to pay on the day at for the odd game as even if prices dropped like some suggest to say £20 for adults and £5 kids that works out double.

The truth is that the club has made supporting Wigan is very affordable if you want to go via the season ticket and even if you can't attend every game it's massively cheaper than going to pay on the day if you plan to attend a decent amount. When we say people can't afford it - how many people genuinely can't afford it and how many could if they wanted to but just choose to spend their disposable income in another way on something they value higher? Phone contracts can work out more than a season ticket per month, a night out can work out at more than a day at the football, some folks spend a fair bit on their clothes or take aways, etc. Not everyone is flush with cash but in most cases we probably haven't got 10 thousand people sitting at home on a Saturday gutted they can't be there and would be if only the prices were a bit cheaper - most people who don't go the football will simply choose to prioritise other things and thats fine - it's their right to choose however they want to spend their income.

If we are talking about people who really are on the bread line and cant afford to put aside 15 quid a week then they certainly shouldn't even be considering going to a football game or any other entertainment and no amount of cutting costs will bring them in.

Unfortunately it's a small catchment area in a very competative region for football fans and while cost will always play some factor it's not dragging our attendances down as much as the general lack of interest from the locals.

it has every thing to do with income has I said "those with dosh support or watch on tv in a pub the big four and Everton "

Martinez, before, I was trying to back up what you said re folk not being able to get to games (either through affordability or work, or both). However, this is probably the daftest thing ever posted on this forum.
