The Walking Dead season 4 gets UK air date days after US

The Walking Dead is to return to UK screens for its fourth season on October 18, Fox has confirmed.

British fans of the the cult zombie drama will have to wait just five days after it screens in the US on AMC.

Anticipation is high over the new season given the cliffhanger at the end of the last, which saw the Governor (David Morrissey) escape.

The Walking Dead’s lead actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, previously promised a ‘deeper, darker season’.

Co-star Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene, added meanwhile: ‘There’s this wonderful slow burn to this season that really, really catches you off guard when something happens, because what we get this season that I don’t think we’ve had as much of is very specific deep character development.

‘Where we go off on these little loops into these characters’ lives and then you’re just caught from the side with the horror.’

Yes, I am following the show. I've also read the comic book, but I prefer the tv-serie. It's a pretty good show, beats all the zombie movies at least.

I've been given a copy of the online version of the comics and i'm hesitant to read them, as I don't wanna give away the tv series. I can't believe Daryl isn't even in the comics! They worth reading though? I just read one of the prequel books about the governor which was pretty good actually. Yeah I think it's pretty interesting to see the day to day survival rather than someone just being stuck in a shopping mall or something similar.

I thought this was a thread about Rio and Vidic(well past their sell buy) however It's a good show i'll bookmark 18th of October.

I've read them all. They're good. It can get a bit tedious reading big blocks of text with characters discussing their feelings (all written essentially the same way because the writer - especially at the beginning - didn't quite grasp character differentiation, especially in 'deep' conversations). But that's hard to avoid considering the medium and the subject matter.

There's 114 issues now, I think, and no doubt some of the story arcs have been dry as balls, but on the whole it's a really good comic series.

The show is good as well.
