Swansea v Middlesbrough Sat 16 Dec 15:00

We’re back home again on Saturday, this time the opponents are 12th placed Middlesbrough.

The Boro have lost their last two away matches by the odd goal to Leeds and Bristol, but before that had three consecutive away wins.

Middlesbrough last 6 away matches:

W3 D1 L2 F10 A9

Swansea last 6 home matches:

W1 D3 L2 F6 A8

With only two wins from our ten home matches this season we are in desperate need of some strong leadership to sort this team out, but the current list of potential new managers is hardly inspiring.

The continuous selling of our best players and replacing with inferior ones is soul destroying for fans and is reflected in results and attendances. The question is can any new manager get a tune out of this current squad of players?

Middlesbrough, with just a few days between games, having played at home to Hull on Wednesday night, flew down on Friday to prepare for today’s match, saving themselves the tiring and time consuming 326 mile journey by road.

Any Swans fan who’s feeling depressed at the moment don’t read on.

Middlesbrough, after three straight defeats, fly home tonight with the three points

What a sickener, a moment of madness by the usually dependable Rushworth. He picks up a back-pass from his own player and Boro score from the indirect free kick. We lined the goalmouth with players but Darling moved out to meet the kick and inexplicably left a gap at the near post for them to score.

Some bright spots but too many chances missed again and our weak defence let in the soft goals as usual. Subs were brought on too late to make a difference and it’s another defeat to add to our shocking home record. Swans down to 18th in the table with the three teams below us only three points behind.

We are now paying the price of having clueless owners and inept management from top to bottom.

Sell your best players and bring in rubbish to replace them and it will eventually catch up with you. Now it has.

Did their number 9 Latte Lath make any contact with the ball during Darling’s pass-back as he tried to intercept, hard to tell, but if there is doubt, and i’ve watched it several times, how could the ref be so sure in real time to give such a crucial decision as that.
