Thinking about treating yourself to a replica Manchester City shirt? Perhaps you might want to think again unless you have a few quid tucked away.

Towards the end of 2015 I decided I was going to buy the latest Manchester City home shirt and as I’m a conscience type of chap and not one for buying counterfeit goods I decided to browse the official Manchester City online shop....

Made by Nike, the Manchester City 16-17 home kit will return to blue shorts, a look the club sported for its last two league championships, although in a new, never-seen-before combination.

Hmmm. Well, if you sup with the devil.... :046:

Not a massive fan of sky blue shorts largely for the same reason as Buzz - it's what Coventry play in.

This change always puzzles me as you never see the rags or Liverpool tinkering with this sort of change to their iconic image. Our's is Sky Blue shirts and white shorts so stick with it.

Alas I fear that we are in the grip of a corporate, global image game with a lot of the comment in the Footyheadlines articles making reference to the 'Nike Euro 2016' style with ALL kits having matching shirts & shorts and different coloured socks. Seems we are going with the herd which is a shame. Maybe when we get enough traction we can resist this corporate branding being imposed - the rags never changed their white shorts when they were supplied by Nike (although watching the meltdown had they changed to an all red kit would have been hilarious! :039: :039: )

Oh and in response to the original purpose of the post.

Outrageous prices being charged these days
