All as I can say is F*ck to this. This will mean subscribing to another sports channel in NZ.

Difficult to say. Sky have owned sport here for years and supposedly it was seen as difficult to oust the major broadcaster when your only fighting over a population of just over 4 million and maybe 2.5 to 3 million potential subscribers to make a buck. Sky's prices here have been rising and rising at a fast rate and advertising has now become the norm on it which is becoming painful and people have been jumping off it purely on cost alone. I only subscribe to Sky sport for football and reading the comments on the news thread I would say many more will jump ship to potentially this new broadcaster because of football. Sky probably think most NZers want to see the Rugby and that is the priority to hold onto but I think they will get a big shock at how may will move off it as football is the 2nd largest sport in NZ now behind Golf from a playing perspective. Pissed off that this has happened so close to the start of a season when god knows what you have to get installed to see a new broadcaster.

Hope you haven't cancelled that subscription Cochise, it looks like Sky will still broadcast the games albeit with delayed coverage.
