Score Predictions & Match Thread: England v Wales

If we cannot beat this Welsh team we do not deserve to go through let’s hope Mr Southgate takes the handbrake off 2-0 to us

Should be a pretty comfortable win, 3-0 England.
Reality, more likely 1-1. Knowing a draw will see us through, Southgate is hardly likely to release the handbrake and draw up both anchors! Maybe he will surprise us and wear a colourful tie.

After that poor display against u s a england are like the imps which one will turn up i think we will click when we score the first goal wales heads will go down 4=0 to england

England v Wales so far the worst game I've watched. Great competitive matches earlier today. It's dire cowardly stuff. England's swagger when passing sideways and backwards is mind-numbing.

0-0 HT. All England, but pretty uninspiring. No real signs of any understanding between the players; get it forward, out to the flanks, cross the ball in, and hope. Just can’t see where the step up in gear is going to come from. This has 0-0 or 0-1 written all over it at present

England were actually good imo. Controlled first half just needed the goal, when it came was largely a stroll.

Saw Rob Page interview afterwards - he said something like 'if you're going to go out the world cup, you want to put in a performance like that first half'.

Couldn't really believe that - meekly waiting for England to score doesn't seem like an inspiring or valiant defeat.

All you could say is that it was better than they played for the whole game against Iran.

Wales may have won the Song Contest with a couple of gems (not Bale & Ramsey) but in regards actual football, they’d struggle in the Championship.

Thank God we won, if Wales had pulled it off, every sheep botherer from here to Timbucktoo would have reminded us about it every day for the next 20 years.
