Rate The Players v Tranmere Rovers

Vital Football Legend
So the unbeaten away record comes to an end, and it was always likely to be against a side like Tranmere who barely manage a goal a game. City have won six of the last seven games, so this is hardly a disaster. However, we need to start putting lesser teams away when so completely dominant. So far, the three games we have failed to win have all been against teams in the bottom half.

Should Danny have changed a winning team? Did Frecklington really deserve to walk straight back into the side? Should the ineffective Eardley-to-Rhead-to-no-one methodology be consigned to the bin now? Tell us.

6.0 is the par score, use half-marks and give us your comments too.

Deadline is 5pm on Thursday.

Probably shouldn't do this when its so late and too raw, however :-
Vickers - 5 - only involvement first half nearly shipped a header over the line; let down by defence for the goal; some good, some iffy distribution, overall not his best night
Eardley - 6 - worked well down the line
Bostwick - 5.5 - turned for pace a few times second half, notably for the goal. He's had better nights.
Shackell -5.5 - not his best night either.
Toffolo - 6.5 - generally ok defensively, supported going forward ok.
Frecklington - 7 - made Tranmere look ridiculous first half, suffered with others when Tranmere responded second half.
Pett - 6.5 - part of a well oiled machine first half, but with Freck lost the battle second. Happier with O'Connor? Now there's a dilemma.
McCartan - 7 - cleverest player on the pitch, I'd have left him on.
Anderson - 7.5 - best game for a while, perhaps Tranmere's more physical approach suited his reciprical response. Best effort on goal 2nd half.
Andrade - 5.5 - frustrating night, should have run riot against this defence and didn't, too many wrong decisions with shots/crosses. He is still an (exciting) work in progress
Akinde - 7 - made Tranmere's defence look stupid first half and unlucky not to score in the first couple of minutes. Flagged second as Tranmere upped the intensity and their 'borderline legal physicality' (ie dirty bar stewards) wore him down.

Rhead - 4 - sorry Matt, we all love you, but the way we now play and the effect you have on that when you're on the pitch means you Imps days are coming to an end.
Green -6- tried hard, unlucky slip at one point. Try him with McCartan for variety.

Vickers - 6 - heart in mouth moment, no chance with the goal, other than that had hardly anything to do.
Eardley - 6 - average.
Bostwick - 6 - not up to the usual standards and played Norwood onside.
Shackell - 6 - Like Bostwick, not up to the usual standards.
Toffolo - 6 - not much going on tonight.
Frecklington - 6.5 good first half, anonymous in the second.
Pett - 6 - ratted around but tired towards the end and I don't remember. anything in the second half other than him getting caught for it.
McCartan - 7.5 - should not have been subbed for Rhead.
Anderson - 6.5 - not a bad game but if there is a place for improvement in January it's the right wing.
Andrade - 6 - where did he go?
Akinde - 7 - Tranmere's nasty backline of heffers and giants didn't like him. Unlucky not to get a goal. One day he will score and then he will score some more.

Rhead - 5 - did nothing offered nothing. In the pocket of a fat 35-year-old. Rhead has served Lincoln City well but he is not plan B for a top of the table team looking for a goal. He immediately forced a change in tactics and we reverted to hit and hope and appealing for shirt pulling. That is not football and I never want to see it played by Lincoln again.
Green - 6 - no impact.

Edit - revised for Matt Green, original was a little harsh.

Short of time for comments. Sorry Scottie

London is quite a big modern place I hear. They really ought on have the internet down there soon.
When you in a group Board Meeting all day it’s hard to ask for an adjournment so you can rate the Lincoln players v Tranmere. ?
