£50 mill for this game changer.

Firstly Zaha won't be seen in a Tottenham shirt until the end of the summer, or he may not be seen in it at all.

For those who thought he was coming in January, I told you it was a fantasy pie in the sky. Zaha is already Palace's highest paid player and would be close to ours too if he joined, which would trigger another round of contract increases for a small cadre of Tottenham players.

Zaha is Dragging Palace out of the relegation zone almost on his own, so accepting a bid from anyone now would be utterly bonkers.

We are not the only club now tapping the drums and whispering sweet nothings in ears, both Liverpool and Arsenal have now both made contact and are both willing to cough up., the agents are positively beaming and will soon be picking up their new Bentley's.

Meanwhile, we are still bogged down in spit balling terms. Both of our richer rivals are willing to meet his agents demands and Crystal Palace's target price.

Arsenal see him as a straight change for the inconsistent Walcott and Liverpool already know they will not be able to stop Barcelona's pursuit of Coutinho. Supposedly, Poch is a big attraction for him, let's hope that the Tottenham Legend who believes all this is right.

If we bought him when I knew he was buy-able we would have likely have ended £20 mill better off; I was banging the drum for this improving game changer two summers ago - we floated a half-hearted bid with our now standard opening gambit of £15 mill, the Palace chairman quite rightly had a fit of apoplexy and pretty much accused us of being time-wasters, which in fairness, we were.

A bid of £30 mill + performance add-ons would have secured his services, and we might well have won the premier league.

This is why for ten years I have considered Daniel as penny-wise, pound foolish., or was it Poch believing that a World Cup winning Midfielder was the more desperately needed option? You decide.

If we ever get our money back for So-so Sissoko, it will be a Xmas miracle indeed.

I am reliably informed that we're making big financial commitments in January as we need to get our summer business done before the World cup starts; but the chances of any major target joining before the Jan window slams shut is unlikely, meanwhile Rambling Rose is standing by his googler - as his extensive knowledge of any players outside of Manchester is a bit of a stretch.

Could Zaha and Kane be a good fit - if so, who gets sacrificed?

50m for Zaha is crazy. He has some skills but he doesn't score enough goals or assist enough for me. Maybe Poch can take him to the next level?

Agree we should have signed him instead of Sissoko though.

Zaha, game changer? 50 Mil? Crazt talk.

Glad we didn't get him, we need a Martial level attacker, and he isn't close.

Lemar, Pulisic, Carrasco - that's what we can get for that sort of money, why would we waste it on Zaha?

We won’t sign Zaha for a number of reasons.

We won’t ever pay 50 million for a player under ENIC

We won’t risk having to give out more pay rises - FFS we are haggling over the contract of the best CB in the league

30-50m is going to be the norm for players like zaha. If we want 50 plus for the like of rose and walker, just imagine what a good attacking player would cost.

Best to buy from other leagues.

Papers are saying Barclay and Shaw.....how about real attacking guile and flair to help Harry....why do we need Shaw?...its just to entice Rose away?....Barclay has not played competitively for yonks! He can't be showing much in training cos usully a new manager will entice an unhappy player to think again and Big Sam has not done so.

this all makes no sense...

Who can we sign to fit in straight away? Unfortunately not a lot. We don't have the wages to compete at the top, so we are always hoping on the next Alli/Kane.

As much as we like to think we are big club, until we start to pay the wages, we will never sign a marquee proven talent. We will remain on the borderline potential to be great until we see the benefits of he new stadium.

Happy Christmas to all at vital Spurs. I'm home for the holidays and going to the game against the saints. If we are in presents mode;Ryan Sessegnon at Fulham over Shaw, Barkley for Sissoko, Aubamayang to have an actual C.F. option supplement for Kane. And De virje so Dire is only ever used at CB ( also mitigating the potential loss of Toby).

Surprised how many don’t want him. I would love to see Zaha in lilywhite. Personally it doesn’t affect me if it’s 30 or 50 spent as long as the team is better for it, which it would be. Obviously I understand it’s better for the club to spend less if it means more funds for additional reinforcement. Moreover a $50 million price tag probably would include ad ons. In today’s market, a player of that calibre is well worth $50m - it’s a player that would gel in the team and has loads of experience in England yet quite a few years left of footballing excellence - I am for it!

Zaha Nah,Nah,why do you think he's still playing for Palace...??

Because they made him the most highly paid player in their history, no one else there comes close...and all he has done since his return is get better and better...which is what he'll keep doing for the next few seasons.

I would have thought the quality of Zaha and our style of play/players would be the perfect fit.
The move to United was far too soon for him . I hope that now isn't too late for us. I agree we should have gone for him 18 months ago.
