here's my 2 at Morecambe, only been in the sea twice, first time they took a long hard look at the 'big pond' that kept pouring at them. But they love swimming (what they are bred for) and are happy swimming in sub zero temperatures in the river Aire. No more canal swimming, the black one, Bootsy, nearly ended up losing a leg cos of an infection he got from the Leeds Liverpool canal.
