After beating Birmingham eight-nil, the Cherries defender Steve Cook said, 'Well, that went well. It's always good to keep a clean sheet.'

Keeping his feet on the ground!

I don't know how you'd react to losing that heavily at home - as you say, digger, it must be soul destroying. On the other hand it can only get better!

I think i heard yesterday that Birmingham have only won one home game in around a year - wouldn't surprise me if that was against us.

I remember seeing Boro win 8-0 at home to Sheff Wed (1974)

Yes we all remember that game, digger! LOL

We were disappointed that it wasn't only 7 as we wanted to send cans of 7-up to our Owls friends!

Bournemouth did once beat us 7-2 at Millmoor - but we had our 'keeper carried off with concussion early on (Seamus McDonagh) and played Trevor Womble at one bit in goal and I believe Carl Gilbert took over too!

Any excuse !!!!!

One of my first Boro matches (8-0 Sheff Wed).
Graeme Souness scored a hat-trick if i remember rightly , and we'd beaten Notts County 4-0 in our previous home match.
Went into the top flight (Jack Charlton's first season as a manager)

Jack Charlton did well for 'Boro didn't he - mind he probably had a big river near by to go fishing so he could think about things
