Monday 7th:

Tony Diagne, 30
French defender who scored an unusual hat-trick: left three different Conference clubs shortly before they won promotion to the FL (Lincoln, Macclesfield, Barrow)

Tuesday 8th:

Lee Frecklington, 35
Former captain, scored an important penalty, still without a club

Wednesday 9th:

Roger Holmes, 78
40 goals in 307 appearances, one of the last surviving players from the Second Division days

Friday 11th:

Janos Kovacs, 35
Big centre back, still playing in the Hungarian third division

Ben Tomlinson, 30
32 Conference goals for the Imps, only Matt Rhead (34) scored more

Saturday 12th:

Colin Boulton, 75
Two-time First Division champion who had a bad day at Gresty Road

Sam Ellis, 74
Super Sam, captain, penalty-king but not so successful Imps manager

I thought Frecklington was a coach at Rotherham’s youth side now whilst playing for Dave Frecklington at Frickley?

Kovacs mid-30's and Tomlinson only just 30 are the stand-out surprises this week.

What a wet lettuce Diagne was. Can't believe we gave him a two-year deal (or a deal at all). Terrible.

Better defender than Aaron Brown, he used to bottle 80/20 never mind 50/50!

His Rotherham role is more honorary position within their academy school coming in occasionally to advise their juniors rather than actually coach the football side. The Frickley thing was rumoured a few weeks back but can't say I've seen anything concrete on that

I must be getting old Roger Holmes my all time favourite been 78 on Wednesday, remember been at Crewe when Boulton broke his leg, Thommo went in goal we had a player sent off and still won 3-0 I realised what a good team we had that day.
