First he doesn’t get selected and now he is facing allegations of betting and wrong doings involving football. I just saw his latest comment where he says he is gutted that he won’t be involved in Englands 2-0 victory over Iran tomorrow

Absolutely this. That assault on O’Connor was cynical as you can get. The latest allegations seem to point to the character of the person involved. No sympathy from me.

While what Bradley Wood did is more serious than what Toney allegedly did, it's not as serious as match fixing.
Wood was guilty of purposefully getting yellow cards in certain games, which is more related to spot betting than affecting the outcome of a game.
In fact the games Wood got those yellow cards in - against Ipswich and Burnley in the FA Cup run - Lincoln won.

Decent article in the paper the other day - whilst undertaking his football education at Newcastle, Peterborough and finally Brentford, Toney has advertised Sky Bet, Fun888 and Hollywood Casino on his shirt. And then the football world reacts in Puritan horror when it’s discovered said player has a gambling problem.
