Bound to be getting pissed off at his work constantly being undone. How long before he goes somewhere he is appreciated?

Doubt it. They are all on good contracts and toe the line. Difficult to see anyone actually
leaving of their own accord.

Good work gets noticed, half chance and he'll be gone. What's Carr to gain from staying?

Good contracts??? Ashley??? Bahahaa

An inept **** undoing your good work. 90% of people who have worked will have experienced it

How do you know he is well paid? Do you honestly think there aren't teams willing to pay him more than Scrooge McFuck?

:17: :17:

Well paid???

Ashley's tighter than a fish's arse. Carr could walk into a higher paid job tomorrow.

Perhaps money isn't Carr's motivation. What is he now 70? He loves the club and is enjoying the job, and is probably of an age where he knows money isn't everything.

That most certainly does not mean that 'they' pay well.

And if you're referring to the coaching staff, they probably don't know they're born.

Where would Steve Stone and Peter Beardsley get another job? Beardsley's just an arse licker living off his former glories.

Remember someone saying that Carver and co were just token Geordies to dilute the Cockney influence a bit. Thought it was harsh at the time.

What do they do?

Peter Beardsley is Director of Football Development I think? What does that even mean?

Carver appers to be in charge of Anger, and I can't begin to imagine what Stone does alongside him.

Seriously, what do the coaching staff do? Carver spent a lot of time with Robson, and is apparently known for his love of the passing game. Steve Stone I always thought was a clever little player, good reader of the game.

So what do they all do of a typical day's training, because their whole game approach seems to be completely at odds with Pardew's hoofball tactic.

It's just another startlingly obvious reason why it's not working.

What successful club would have passing style coaching staff, teaching passing style players how to hoof the ball. Players that the manager has no influence on picking or buying.

The whole thing is a shambles from top to bottom.

Fatman undoubtedly has many faults. But a bad payer? Not to his many shop staff, providing they hit targets, they hit the jackpot, unlike us fans.

Good question Plat.
They do very little apart from collect their paycheques. Giving them all long contracts was a big mistake. Stone, Beardsley and even Carver have done nothing on the coaching front. Carver is an embarrassment on the touchline losing his rag. Can they organise a defence - No, Can they organise free kicks - No, Can they organise Corner Kicks - No.
Would they get a job at any top club - No.
Are they happy to sit back and toe the line - Yes

A new manager arrives and his first job is usually to clear out the backroom staff, and bring in your own, not Pards, he has to toe the line and has no say at all.

There we have it 'head of youth development'. Why aren't heads rolling?? If Ashley was as ruthless with us as he is in ShitDirect we wouldn't be so badly off. Not 1 youngster has came through, and not 1 player has 'developed' in the best part of 3 years. Someone has to be held accountable

Dominic Matteo on SSN earlier said Pulis had taken Stoke as far as he could and to break the top 8 now is very difficult because you need to keep the ball longer and be more efficient with it. Totally agree, hoof ball teams are not only boring to watch but completely unsuccessful in the long run. They might pull off an odd result but can anyone think of a team that's won anything with it?
