No - only those two were signed at that time.

We've always been on a promotion push up to about the middle of August. It's only the last few seasons that trend has been bucked

Jack and Thomas were both signed in August 1983, Fashanu joined in September.

Just to make it clear/give a clue - all three players were signed at the same time (or at least within the same week).

Not entirely shocked just seem to remember those memorable strikers all turned up at the same time.

I think this was towards the end of the 81-82 season. We signed John Ward,David Rodgers and I think David Hughes. These were signed on-loan or on short-term contracts. They were all released at the end of the season.

That's exactly right.

Rodgers was signed to take the place of Steve Thompson who had received a two-match ban after totting up 22 penalty points. He played in one further game when Trevor Peake was the man suspended.

John Ward was signed to provide cover in case of injury (a bit like Lee Angol a year or so ago) and played just one game when both Gordon Hobson and Derek Bell were unfit.

Hughes also joined as cover but wasn't required to play.
