Fancy A Laugh?

Scotimp

Vital Football Legend
Irrelevant to us now, thank God, but this made me laugh out loud:

http://www.nwemail.co.uk/sport/barrow-afc/article/Cox-wants-to-bring-in-nasty-and-horrible-signings-to-Barrow-AFC-98b58b40-91b7-4fbd-8581-783e54602a6e-ds

So he thinks the nastiest team in football are not nasty or horrible enough. What the hell is he planning to do, then? Equip them with jack boots and flick knives?

"“I have a lovely group of players at the minute who are honest and genuine, but to win titles, sometimes you need somebody who is a little bit dishonest, somebody who bites and scratches, somebody that upsets people and is not scared to."

I'm really impressed that they're managing to take it to the next level to be honest. I imagine Cox thinking - you're just a bit rough, with your bad tackles and pushing and pulling. We need someone who bites and scratches people...

How flipping infantile. Need players that bite and scratch my backside. Need players that never give up for the full 90+ mins even if behind on the 89th minute. A good manager who can change plan mid match if plan A doesn't work. Bit of a decent budget helps as well. Especially if there are bankrolled clubs in the same league.

Plan A - kick em, plan B - scratch em, plan C bite em.

I think you would struggle to find many players willing to do what you write in your second sentence :he he:

I'm not sure this player falls into the 'nasty and horrible' category. :he he:

Every time I hear opposing Managers speak I find myself grateful that we have such a professional and eloquent Manager of our own. We truly are lucky to have him.

Not as bad as this bunch of brain donors:

Got a mate whose a Swindon supporter. Him and a car full made their way to Cambridge for a game. Think it was around 2002. On arrival in the city they asked directions for the Cambridge City ground and were astonished how small it was. One of them then realised it was Cambridge Utd they were playing. Missed the first 15 mins but ended up with a 2-1 win. :mop:

Didn't their fans put on their message board how they were the best team in the league after they beat us at their place? Deluded. Enjoy the trips to Dover and Torquay this season, we will have to settle for Luton, Swindon, Cov.
