does a road get wider when you break

On the short cut to easton roundabout from drayton it seems that a lot of drivers in front of me recently think that when a car is coming in opposite direction if they apply the brakes the road will get wider so they can pass by the car coming in opposite direction :idiot:

Quite a dangerous road and a bit of a rat run . Drivers who do that think its best to stop and let the other driver do the struggling !
