These views on who to keep and who to release are based on more than one performance:
Loach - keep a decent performer at NL level
Catterick - release, not pushing Loach
Kioso - keep, done well in first season, should improve
Richardson - release, not pushing on
Magnay - release, injury prone has yet to complete a full season at Pools
Kerr - keep
Anderson - keep, solid performer
Edgar - release, doesn't add anything to back line
Cunningham - release, injury prone
Amos - release, too lightweight, poor defensively
Kitching - release, poor defensively, not an attacking force either.

Need a commanding center half and a decent left back

Yep I agree though not 100% about Loach. He is a great shot stopper but poor with crosses.

Loach is a keeper, pun intended.
Kioso is decent, we may need Richardson as Kioso has a fondness for the colour yellow. Keep Kerr, Anderson, Edgar add Raynes as he is, on one hand the better of the central defenders, on the other possibly the most [of the centre halfs] unlucky with injuries. Cunningham is young and I think has potential.
We deffo need a left back.
The biggest problem the defence has is they get no protection or release from the midfield.

Edgar looked disinterested against Salford and was probably at fault for allowing the striker so much space to score the opener, his desire may be elsewhere, although he did settle, probably wants to be away and wouldn’t be a great loss as we need people who’s heart is in it.
