Peter Scally has passed away with close family at his bedside.
He was a regular attendee at Priestfield up till fairly recently. Sincere condolences to Paul and his family.

Hope we don't have any tossers making nasty comments. Pretty sure we won't on this site but I fear a certain band of Gills "fans" might.

For all his faults I still appreciate that Scally saved the club when no one else was around to do it.

I "follow" the official GFC page on Facebook and found nothing but kind words when I looked earlier. Wouldn't like to guess what's on some if the, what I call, W@nky ones though. I can't bring myself to even look at those ones.

My thoughts go out to Mr Scally and all his family at this sad time. RIP Peter.

Sad news. Me and my kids were only in the board room briefly chatting to him before a game a few weeks ago, not knowing who he was until he sat next to Scally for the pre-match lunch. He was very frail, but gave a nice chat...i guess i didnt expect his condition to deteriorate quite so quickly.
