One person who has to pull his finger out and shape up is Tony Stewart. He must take quite a bit of the blame for this debacle. When he sacked Taylor in November we were third bottom and 4 points from safety with 30 games to play. I said at the time that if we wanted to stay up we needed first and foremost a proven motivator. Viktor yesterday made that point about Evans. Instead we had the chairman bunk off on holiday, a four week hiatus and the appointment of a guy who had not worked for a year and who to me seemed to possess all the gung ho qualities of a wet lettuce. Stewart needs to back his manager - and back him properly.
