Bradford – Valley Parade – 17th April 2018

Saturday's good point at Plymouth could become a great one, if Pompey can leave Valley Parade with all three against Bradford on Tuesday.

Regardless of what Plymouth boss Derek Adams said, I’m not sure what game he was watching, Pompey were well worth a draw at Home Park. In fact, the Blues could, if not should, have secured victory in Devon, which wouldn't have been unjust, to be honest.

Bradford are a side ripe for the picking. Momentum is with us too, so an away win shouldn't be unexpected. However, that isn't to say Pompey have a divine right to rock up and assume the Bantams will roll over and hand us anything, that isn't how things work, is it?

We have to take it a game at a time, a cliché I know, but victory in Yorkshire would set the Blues up nicely for Charlton – at Fratton Park – and the trip to already-relegated Bury to end April, potentially leaving another final day Fratton showdown against Peterborough to secure a play-off spot?

I’m wary of being overconfident, but I’d be disappointed, dare I say surprised if Pompey left Valley Parade emptied handed against a struggling Bradford side, who I thought were going to be there or thereabouts for a top-six finish themselves.

Confidence, not arrogance, does leave me feeling we’ll prepare for our Fratton return with all three points.

What do you think?

We can't expect it to be handed to us on a plate, we'll have to work for a victory, but I've got a good feeling about tonight and think we 'might' end it in a top-six place...

Well, I can't say I expected that. Disappointing way to lose the unbeaten run, but it is what it is.

Think Tuesday showed why, in all honesty, and realistically, we shouldn't make the play-offs. I don't think we're ready, which isn't to say I wouldn't have wanted another promotion.

It's not entirely over, but three wins out of three probably isn't too likely? If that happens it might not be enough anyway?!

Pompey’s unbeaten run ended at Bradford on Tuesday. A Charlton win – Scunthorpe and Plymouth having games in hand, and point’s advantage – has ended our play-off hopes, right?
