Beware Of The Scully...

Mr Bailey lived near the school and had been there years.he took over has temporary headmaster when Faull left.
I thought he was a lovely man. Totally dedicated to the school and his job.
Woodwork was his forte, and I was hopeless at it. He said to me he had only seen one person worse than me and that was my brother who had been there five years earlier.
Burley taught art and also took us at cricket during games.
In fairness I thought it was a good school with a majority of good teachers and as I was sport mad it also catered for that as well.

📞 “hello is that the police? I would like to report a hijacking”

Just do as we say and nobody gets hurt. Now where were we.
A few names that haven't been mentioned :
Hunt taught Latin
Hiscox Chemistry
Jack Astbury (from Doncaster) French. Lovely man.
Ron Reece ?
Last but not least Roger Newby English. Great bloke.
I think the hard man was Don Ainley.
I agree Bunny Baker was a lovely man too.

There are a few more whose names escape me.
Great school , great days. An elitist education for such a rabble like us.

I remember going to away matches in the back of an old army truck. And wasn't there a black maria?

One little anecdote about (gimpy) Faull. One morning on arrival I had to go into the admin office at the front. He accused me of smoking as I smelled very strongly of it. Got a rollicking despite my innocence. In those days, if you travelled on the top deck of a corporation bus you ended up stinking of fags!
Bit like the scene in Kes where the innocent little kid gets the cane.
Great days, different world.
