In a strange move, assuming what The News reports is correct, George Colson has been deemed 'surplus to requirements' at Fratton but is 'attracting premier league interest!'
So, a soon to be league two club believe that Colson is not good enough for that level but a topflight club, possibly Stoke, see his potential.
It does not make a lot of sense really?
That said, even if his reported trial works out, there are going on 'potential ability' I guess and have the funds in place to see if this develops.
Facts of the matter these days are that we are now in a position where not 'many risks' can be taken and trying to wait that 'year or so' for potential to be realised is a luxury we can ill afford, we need them to be deemed ready to jump in right away.
Best of luck to Colson, and Dan Thompson who is also being released, but that selfish part of me does hope we are not proven wrong here...
